The Millennium Falcon is Han Solo's legendary starship.
George Lucas has said that he based the design of the Millennium Falcon on a hamburger with an olive lying to the side of it. Also, at the time of the release in 1977, the new millennium was mysteriously encroaching, adding to the futuristic allure of the name “millennium.”
