Max Rebo is the blue-skinned, keyboard-playing leader of the Max Rebo Band, which provided music and entertainment for Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi.
The name "Maxamilion" (often shortened to Max) is derived from Latin, meaning "greatest one," which would be appropriate since Max Rebo is the leader of the band. His last name, Rebo, may be derived from the word "grebo" which is derogatory slang for an "awkward or stupid person."

Rebo is said to have been obsessed with food, and reportedly signed a contract with Jabba the Hutt to pay him and his band in food for their services. His fixation on food is ironic since the color blue suppresses the appetite. |
