Beyond the Sea was originally written by French singer and songwriter Charles Trenet and called La Mer. The song was first performed in 1946.
Over the years many other singers have recorded the English version, Beyond the Sea - including Robbie Williams, who sang it for Finding Nemo (2003) - but the song is most commonly associated with 1950s rock and roll idol Bobby Darin. |
